The Florida Society of Neurology is a medical specialty society established to advance the art and science of neurology, and thereby promote the best possible care for patients in Florida with neurological disorders.

Membership is open to Florida organizations and individuals with expertise and interest in neurology.

INTRO TO NEUROLOGY

Neurology is branch of medicine concerned with the scientific study of the nervous system especially in respect to its structure, functions, and abnormalities (i.e. the diseases that affect it). It has two major divisions:
-- Central nervous system: the brain and spinal cord
-- Peripheral nervous system: all other neural elements, such as eyes, ears, skin, and other "sensory receptors"

The society is involved in advocacy both at the state and local level, and communication of scientific and scholarly information through our educational seminars and publications
